About the VoltDB JDBC driver

A JDBC driver is a Java .jar library that lets applications connect to VoltDB. DbSchema uses JDBC to reverse engineer schemas, run SQL, and generate documentation. Driver files are usually published by the database vendor or an open-source project.

The VoltDB JDBC driver

VoltDB is an in-memory NewSQL database engineered for high-throughput, low-latency transactional workloads that require deterministic performance at scale. It uses a shared-nothing, horizontally partitioned architecture and processes transactions through stored procedures to minimize latency. VoltDB is used in telecommunications, financial services, and real-time analytics applications.

VoltDB uses port 21212 for the JDBC interface. Authentication with username and password can be specified in the URL or connection properties. The VoltDB JDBC driver is included in the VoltDB client distribution.
