About the SqlBase JDBC driver
A JDBC driver is a Java .jar library that lets applications connect to SqlBase.
DbSchema uses JDBC to reverse engineer schemas, run SQL, and generate documentation.
Driver files are usually published by the database vendor or an open-source project.

The SqlBase JDBC driver
Centura SQLBase is a client/server relational database developed by Gupta Technologies (later Unify Corporation), historically used in departmental applications and legacy systems. It supports SQL stored procedures, ODBC/JDBC connectivity, and Btrieve data files.

Connecting to SQLBase
A SQLBase server hosts several named databases, and clients ask for one by name over the server's listener.

Name the database.
jdbc:sqlbase://host:port/mydb, where the name is the one the server publishes rather than a file path. - Make sure the server is listening on TCP. SQLBase can be configured for local access only, in which case a JDBC client cannot reach it however the firewall is set.
- Check the port. DbSchema prefills 2155. Confirm the value in the server's configuration before opening a firewall rule.
- Open port 2155 in the server's firewall. The database listens on port 2155 unless it was installed with a different one. A host firewall on the server blocks incoming connections on that port until a rule allows them. The firewall guide has the commands for Windows, ufw, firewalld and iptables.
- Connect from DbSchema. In the Connection Dialog choose Remote computer or custom port, fill in the server host and the port, then press Test Connection to check that the server answers before you connect.
